Let us speak of school. The key to understanding school as educational for its students is the fact every school acts from its purpose. That is what is key.
An institution has more than one purpose. There is its purpose written in words. Words are divisive. That means anything that is not within its written purpose is separate from it and apart from it. The school is divided from the start. Some will interpret the words of its purpose this way while others will interpret the meaning another way. A school is divided against itself from the outset. So, what education is to come from it? It must be limited. What the cost to the student of a limited education?
Suppose a school where there are no teachers only students. Suppose in this school students decide what they are to learn and with whom? Suppose the only rule of this school is: there are to be no rules?
Second, every institution has a written purpose and an actual purpose. The actual purpose is what controls its activities. The actual purpose is shared by the “authorities” of the school. They make its decisions. They speak often behind closed doors concerning this actual purpose. In fact, any teacher hired has to first convince the current authorities of the school that the actual purpose will not be threatened in any manner. This fact controls the interview process and its outcome. New teachers are aware that their answers in the interview process will decide the outcome so answer accordingly. What is the nature of an education to be dispensed by such dishonest teachers? Little wonder the new teacher’s purpose to educate is forgotten and becomes “a way to earn money for me and mine”. And a follow-up, “life is that way”
Any parent who loves his child will cry at the prospect of sending that innocent to school. Parents have to dig for an escape to live with in “we have no other choice”.
Ask yourself, honestly, why would anyone require children to attend a school? Why do human beings not live in a way that welcomes children to life certain all will get their unlimited education from life itself which is not determined under the countless, well hidden limitations of human authority?
How many of you believe that what is written here represents “wild, chaotic
undisciplined anarchy? That is because you have no knowledge of who you and others are and no faith in life and no actual understanding of your own nature when set free. It is unknown to you. The meaning of “discipline” comes from “disciple” and is “one who learns”. Really learns. There is such a much better way.
